Over 50 years ago, Howard Farmer felt a calling on his life, saw a vision, and started a ministry. He and the late Madeline Farmer started their first church, preaching and singing whenever the doors were open. Seven children and several years later Reverend Farmer still preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ today. In 2005, the youngest of those Farmer siblings, Laura Caraway, and her two children, Mandy Houston and Cory Turner, took that lengendary name and started a mixed vocal group known as The Farmers.

Laura has been singing all of her life. She has an amazing voice and is also a very talented musician. She is featured on their latest project "Because You Asked" singing her testimony, "Give It All To You", written by her daughter, Mandy. She is also the manager for the group and handles booking as well. Laura is married to Glenden Caraway.

Mandy is the lead singer for the group. With such power in her voice and the personal feeling in every lyric, she captivates audiences each and every night. Along with the voice, she is a very talented songwriter. She has written and co-written several songs that have been featured on Farmer albums. She is married to Tosh Houston, soundman for the group, and together they have a son named Garrett.

Cory is the youngest member of the group and is the group's emcee. His personality and love for others has connected him with anyone he's come in contact with. Cory is an amazing songwriter whose lyrics teach, inspire, and minister to anyone who hears. Most of the songs recorded and sang by the Farmers are written by him or co-written by he and his sister. He is also a very talented singer and musician and is the manager of media for the group. His wife, April, is the group's finance manager and together they have a son named Gaither.
