I was born and raised in Chicago and had a fairly successful career as a country/folk/bluegrass singer and songwriter. In 1979 I moved to Nashville to join the Bluegrass band Red, White and Blue(grass) as a lead singer, back up singer and guitarist. Through the eighties there came several jobs with artists and a lot of session work as a bass player. It was then I joined Steve Bivins' band. Steve encouraged my growth as a Christian. I've always believed, but never gave the Lord control. In the nineties, I joined the Nashville Cowboy Church band and, thanks to Harry Yates and Joanne Cash Yates, I asked Jesus into my life. Years of drugs, alcohol and being stubbornly willful took a while to melt away, but finally the Lord is at the helm and I go where He leads me. Currently I'm back at NCC as the bassist, as well as doing session work and playing for different artists. As a songwriter, all of my writing is now dedicated to Jesus. Early in 2012, God willing, I'll release an album of Christian Country, Christian Bluegrass and Christian Folk music, mostly originals with a few favorite gospel songs.
