I was raised on a farming ranching operation, and ran my own spread for 30 years. I trained, and raised Quarter Horses for 40 years. I also am a farrier. My dad bought my 1st guitar when I was 14 and have played off and on for 40 years or so.
I retired from the railroad on November 11, 2007 as an engineer with 34 years of service. In 1999 I checked myself into an alcohol rehab. I've been sober 11 years 11 months. I am so thankful that Jesus rescued me off the scrap pile of my life. I started attending church soon after rehab, and singing in the choir. Then I started playing my guitar and singing Southern Gospel.
My pastor encouraged me to write my own songs and tell how God had Graced my life. I joined the CCMA in 2004 and released some songs to Christian Country Radio. I had 3 songs make the charts. I received a Ministry in Music Award in 2004 at the CCMA convention, and in 2005 was a top 10 nominee for Evangelist of the Year by my CCMA peers. The recongition is nice. However being reconized by God as one of his children is the biggest honor I've ever received. I joined the USAGEM in 2007, and as our time permits intend to be as active in this fine organization as we can.
I've been married to the love of my life, Sandy for 40 years. We have 2 children and 10 grandchildren. We have been blessed in our married life and are honored that God has intrusted us with The Heart of Grace Ministries. We sold our home after we retired in Olathe, Kansas and moved to Afton, Oklahoma then we bought a ton dually and 5th wheel trailer. We are at present full time RVers and are traveling the Nation spreading the Good News. We sing in churches at the towns we stop over in, and also sing in the RV parks we stay in and Jams and Cowboy Churches.
